We Collect Nothing
The Streak Lab collects **no personal data** of any kind. There are no accounts, no logins, no emails required, no cookies for tracking, no analytics scripts, no third-party pixels, and no server-side storage.
All progress (start date, completed days, missed days, notes) is stored **exclusively in your browser** using localStorage — the same technology websites use to remember preferences like dark mode.
How Your Data Stays Private
- Local only: Your streak data never leaves your device. We have no way to access it — even if we wanted to.
- No server: We do not send anything to our servers (or anyone else's). No logs, no IP addresses, no device fingerprints.
- No third parties: No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no ad networks, no email marketing tools embedded on the site.
- No accounts: Because there are none, there are no passwords, no email lists (unless you voluntarily subscribe via the link — see below), no profile data.
Optional Email Subscription
The only way we ever collect any information is if you voluntarily join our low-volume email list (via the "Join the low-volume list" link on pages).
- We use a third-party service (e.g., Buttondown or Substack) to manage subscriptions.
- We only send occasional new experiment ideas (1–2 per month at most).
- You can unsubscribe instantly from any email.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone.
What Happens If You Clear Browser Data?
All your streak progress is deleted — because it's stored only on your device. This is the trade-off for total privacy. We have no backup or recovery method.
Tip: Use the "Export Summary" button on each experiment page to save a text file of your progress before clearing data.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever make changes (unlikely, since we collect nothing), we will update this page and note the date above. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
